An annotated list of 193 species of marine algae, collected from Porto Santo and Deserta Grande, is given: 5 Cyanophyta, 34 Chlorophyta, 34 Phaeophyta and 120 Rhodophyta. Of these 41 are new records to the Madeira Archipelago, of which 11 are new records
