Birds of the archipelagos of Madeira and the Selvagens. III. New records and checklist update (2010-2020)

Abstract

The present paper summarizes the checklist of the birds of the archipelagos of Madeira and Selvagens published in 2010 and its updates published in 2011 and 2013 with a revision of the bird records from 2014 until the 31st of December 2020. From the new total of 371 species and subspecies recorded on the archipelago, six are new and one was added as an unconfirmed record but the frequency / abundance of several species have been updated. The list of breeding birds was updated and upgraded with the distribution of each species through the group of islands where they are known to nest.
